Africa RFCs suffered their first ever defeats here and Sir Garfield Sobers’ hit six sixes off one over at in 1968.
It was opened in 1873 and Swansea Cricket Club played there in the summer and Swansea R.F.C. in the winter. Its first rugby international fixture was played in December 1882. The ground was not only used for rugby and cricket games, but also tennis and boxing matches. Even the Harlem Globetrotters appeared there. Up until 1953 the majority of Welsh rugby internationals were played at St. Helens but the internnationals were then transferred to the Cardiff Arms Park. The ground remains a venue for first class and international cricket matches.

The Swansea.com Stadium is an all-seated multi-use sports stadium and conferencing venue located in the Landore area of Swansea, Wales, hosting both rugby union and football. The stadium opened in 2005 and was named the Liberty Stadium.

Mumbles is the headland sited on the western edge of Swansea Bay.
Its unusual name is thought by some to have been named by French sailors, after the shape of the two anthropomorphic islands which comprise the headland.
Another possible source of the name is from the word Mamucium which is thought to derive from the Celtic language meaning breast-shaped hill.

A compact, beautiful urban park high in quality facilities, the park is a regular winner of the prestigious Green Flag Award. The park is extremely popular with both locals and visitors alike, where several events can be enjoyed from the relaxed bowls festival in July to the more active skate jams during the school summer holidays.
The park is also home to the Patti Pavilion that was donated to the city by the 19th century opera singer Adelina Patti. It is primarily a concert hall but a £3 million referbishment has turned it into a visitor attraction with restaurant and refreshment facilities.
An extremely popular urban park, that has recently been renovated after being awarded a £1.3 million lottery grant.
As well as having some superb facilities, the park also has a unique outdoor classroom, the Discovery Centre.
The state of the art facility provides the park with a special focus for exploring its history and wildlife. The centre overlooks the large lake and all its diverse wildlife.

The 10 hole pitch and put golf course at Ashley Roa has recently been transformed into the UK’s first FootGolf link course. FootGolf is a combination of football and golf, where participants use a football to aim for larger holes on the course. There are 18 holes ranging from 75 yards to 125 yards.

The Lido is a must when the weather is good with its superb paddling pool, children's play area, climbing rock and picnic facilities. A Must Visit site if you are a fan of Swansea's most famous son, the poet Dylan Thomas, who was born and grew up in Cwmdonkin Drive and wrote many of his early works in or about Cwmdonkin Park in the 1930's. A sculpture "Dylan's Pencil", by Mark Fold, commemorates the poet and is a prominent feature of the park, carved from an existing 30 foot tree stump.
Hop aboard a pedalo and glide around the lake or enjoy a round of crazy golf with the family. As well as a bevy of resident swans the lake is home to 14 dragon/swan pedalos, a 18 hole crazy golf course and a children's adventure playground. Fishing is also available at certain times of the year.

Oystermouth is a vibrant waterfront village with a bustling center filled with local family owned shops, restaurants and public houses. Its 12th century Norman castle gives a stunning view over the bay and surrounding area. Public tennis courts and bowling green alongside the promenade.
This apple shaped shop dates back to at least the early part of the 20th centuary. It had a companion 'Pear' shaped shop but this sadly no longer exists.
